December 2012, Curated by Sophie Uliano
Goodebox is in the process of alterring their shipping schedule, so December's box is technically a box themed around the new year (aka January). This month's box was curated by Sophie Uliano, a green and healthy living New York Times Best Selling author. The new year means resolutions and for Goodebox a new or healthier anti-aging regime!
For me, my beauty new years resolution is to stay on top of my routine. I constantly try out a product once or twice, love it, but forget to re-apply as often as prescribed. I feel like I lose out on many of the benefits. I am somewhat concerned about aging and I know I should try harder to keep up with the awesome products I already own!

Products:
me & the girls: Bar Beleza Multi-Use Beauty Bar
Rich in luxurious cupuacu seed butter, unique Bar Beleza performs as a light non-greasy day moisturizer, a nourishing non-foaming oil cleanser, and a perfect all-in-one facial primer and conditioner. Promotes natural elasticity and restores suppleness for all skin types.
Full Size: 1.5 oz ($38.00)
Size Received: 0.15 oz ?? ($3.80)
A bar that can be used as a cleanser and a moisturizer!? I don't get it! This bar uses cupuacu seed butter, which is a tropical Rainforest tree that is a cousin of the cacao tree. The bar itself melts easily, which is good because the second it touches your skin it is workable as a cleanser or a moisturizer. For either you rub the bar directly onto your face. The oils will cling to dirt on your face making it easy to remove with a warm, wet washcloth. And if you leave it on it can be used as a moisturizer. I wasn't buying that it was non-greasy, but it really is. It absorbs in seconds, made my skin feel so smooth and conditioned. This would be the perfect bar to have for vacations. Primer, cleanser, and moisturizer all in one package. Pretty sweet!
Cruelty-free!

Blissoma: Amend Facial Solar Repair Anti-Aging Serum
Brand new from Blissoma and you're the first to try it! The ultimate, science-proven, treatment to undo sun damage and protect against further damage. Pomella pomegranate extract, CoQ10 & nutritive oils and herbs work together to reduce UV ray related cell death, fight inflammation & collagen breakdown, increase cell vitality & longevity and support skin's cellular matrix for smoothness, increased elasticity, and wrinkle reduction. Prevention and damage control in a single formula for all skin types, at any age.
Full Size: 1.0 oz ($48.99)
Size Received: 0.125 oz ($6.12)
A brand new product! How excited that we were the first ones to get to try it. This anti-aging serum focuses on protecting your skin from the sun from the inside out. It uses Pomella pomegranate extract that helps to firm skin, increase collagen, and reduce wrinkles. It also is a general all around daily serum that helps moisturize and sooth irritation and environmental stresses. It leaves no shine, absorbs quickly, and can be easily layered under makeup.

Furleese: 11's Frown line Reducing Patches
Relax (or) prevent frown lines & forehead furrows in a gentle, natural, no 'tox, no needle way. Easy to apply, easy to remove. No latex and hypoallergenic. Simply apply the clear patch while you sleep or before a big night out and a few hours later you'll see fewer lines. It's that easy. Apply to clean skin, allowing treatment products to fully absorb before applying.
Full Size: 30 patches ($19.99)
Size Received: 3 patches ($6.00)
I couldn't have gotten a more perfect anti-aging product. The majority of aging signs my skin does show are frown lines. Well, for me they are concentration lines! When I study I tend to scrunch my eyebrows/forehead. 6 years of intense study is starting to show! I cannot wait to try these patches. Furleese has a full line of different types of patches that work in a similar manner to help smooth and soften out fine lines over night. There are so many positive reviews on Amazon, I couldn't believe it!
I tried this out a few nights ago and it instantly made me feel relaxed, I fell asleep better even. In the morning, the patch didn't hurt to remove and I could see that it did smooth out the wrinkles it was under. But a few hours later they had come back. Maybe after multiple wears it will really help, but either way I am impressed!
Cruelty-free!

Best Hair Ties Ever: Hair Tie
For any hair texture, wet or dry. Won't snag or break those precious strands. For women men & kids. Reusable, washable, made from beech wood tree pulp from managed forests & they use minimal, recycled packaging.
Full Size: 4 ties ($6.00)
Size Received: 1 tie ($1.50)
I didn't get too excuted about this hair tie when I first saw it. For one, I use baby hair ties since my hair is so thin and other bigger ones hurt my scalp. I randomly decided to try it out one day and found out it was wonderful! Yeah, I had to wrap it 6-7 times around my hair, but because it was wrapped around so many times it added extra volume to my pony tail! Other larger hair ties hurt my hair and scalp, but this was super comfortable. The rust color I received is different than any that I have.
Cruelty-free!

Suntegrity: "5 in 1" Natural Moisturizing Face Sunscreen, SPF 30
An all in one, natural 'BB' cream that treats, hydrates, protects, primes, and covers skin. Supercharged with youth promoting antioxidants like red algae, green tea and pomegranate that fight free radical damage, this cream also provides non-nano sized, mineral Broad Spectrum SPF 30 protection, while providing anti-inflammatory benefits that help with rosacea, acne, and melasma.
Full Size: 1.7 oz ($45.00)
Size Received: .25 oz ($6.61)
With the name, I had no idea it was a BB cream! I just assumed it was a fancy sunscreen. Woops, should have read the description. This is a moisturizer, primer, sunscreen, and foundation all in one. Plus it contains antioxidants to help fight sun damage and protect skin from aging. It is an all natural, chemical-free, and vegan formula. Plus aloe vera, cucumber, and green tea are perfect for my sensitive, red skin! I'm wearing this today and I have to say I am impressed. It is the perfect lightweight tinted moisturizer. It feels light, non-greasy, and blended well with my skin tone. I am very pleased and could see trying to buy this if it ever went on sale.
Cruelty-free!

Essence of Vali: Sleep Concentrate
Sleep is critical to health & beauty. Our systems, skin included, do all of their repair work while we snooze. Short yourself REM time and it'll show on your face in more ways than dark circles. A drop of this concentrate on your pillowcase or on a cotton swab tucked inside is all it takes for this potent blend to work it's magic. Like having the Sandman in a bottle.
Full Size: 0.169 oz ($18.00)
Size Received: 0.02 oz (
$2.16)
I don't get much sleep. Ever. I'm lucky if I get 6-7 hours. To make it worse, some nights I just cannot turn my mind off. This sleep concentrate is a highly potent concentration of lavender, marjoram, cedarwood, and ylang ylang essential oils. Just one tiny drop on the outer corner of your pillow and you  will be engulfed in the aroma. I sigh every time I smell it! It helps to relax my body and my senses and prepare for a calmer night. I am loving this stuff!
Cruelty-free!

Tilvee: Pomegranate & Açai Rejuvenating Mask
An innovative dry formula mask customizable for every skin type. Pomegranate & Acai deliver powerful antioxidants to fight free radical damage and aging. Rhassoul clay detoxifies, improves tone, texture, and elasticity while natural enzymes help exfoliate to diminish sunspots and fade pigmentation. Refer to Tilvee website for instructions on what liquid to mix with for greatest benefit to your skin type.
Full Size: 2 oz ($26.99)
Size Received: .25 oz ?? ($3.37)I was excited to see that this is a dry mask, since it means the sample size will last longer! The mix is of freeze dried super fruits that help to soften, smooth, and brighten skin, clay that helps to clean out those pores! Because it is dry it means that you can use any liquid you like to mix with it. The sample came with a cheat sheet with some examples. Oily skin can use fruit juices or honey, normal/dry skin may use avocado, yogurt, mashed fruits, or oils. Red spotty skin can use a mixture of tumeric and honey. Sun spotted skin can use oatmeal, lemon juice, apple cider vinegar, or mashed papaya. I never thought about using a fruit mash on my skin, so I may just have to try it. It's gonna get messy in my house!
Cruelty-free!

Extra
Nerro & Ana: 50% off Nature Inspired Satin Pillows
Sleeping with your face pressed into a standard cotton pillow isn't doing your skin or hair any favors. Opt for a breathable, multi-tasking, eco-friendly satin pillowcase to gently protect skin, preventing creases from starting or deepening. Made in the USA from a plant cellulose/wood pulp based fabric.
50% sounded like a great deal until I saw how expensive these pillows were! A set is about $60 and a single pillow is about $30. Even with the coupon I couldn't ever dream of spending that much on a pillow.
Cruelty-free!

Total value of my December 2012 Goodebox:$29.56
It may be a lower value, but there were so many awesome new brands and products to try! I love when a box is so varied and I get to try out all sorts of types of products. Makeup, skincare, wellness! Great job Goodebox!

What do you think of my December Goodebox? What did you get in yours? Have you tried any of the products I received? Let me know in the comments below!

Favorite Music Friday: MS MR

I'm all screwed up on the days since I had Thursday off and am working the weekend. Apparently it is Friday, which means another new band to share!

MS MR (think Miss and Mr) is this week's Favorite Music Friday. I can't remember how I first heard about this band. I was pretty sure I heard their song 'Dark Doo Woop' on a television show, but I can't figure out which one.

MS MR is a  New York duo made up of Lizzy Plapinger and Max Hershenow. They are considered a Tumblr band. What does that mean? Similarly to youtube artists, MS MR utilized the internet (on Tumblr and Soundcloud) to get their fan base. Their videos and their tumblr are full of random stills and gifs that are mostly creepy, weird, or just random. Strangely enough they describe their genre as Tumblr Glitch Pop, Soul Fuzz, and Electroshock. I had no idea any of these were genres of music. So how would I describe them?I'd say they are chillpop. Lizzy is responsible for all the vocals and she has been compared to Lana Del Ray and Florence + the Machine on multiple blogs. I see the Lana since Lizzy always seems to have a bit of a dark, moodiness in her voice, but I don't get the Florence at all. I find her voice like a mix between MNDR and Katy B. Her voice is strong, moody, and somehow light on top of it all. They are touring with Bastille and Jessica Ware this summer in the UK and US. And I think if you're a fan of either of those bands, you'd like MS MR!

Just last week MS MR posted a preview on their tumblr of their upcoming full-length album 'Second Hand Rapture,' which will be out May 14th. I am very excited about the CD! Even the first song off of it surpassed my expectations. Today I'm featuring the song that got them on the map, 'Hurricane.' A breakup/love song. The lyrics are honest and relatable. Like:

I jumped the gun
so sure you'd split and run
ready for the worst
before the damage was done

Welcome to the inner workings of my mind
so dark and foul I can't disguise

I hope you enjoy! Happy weekend!

Birchbox: December 2012

So many people have been unhappy with Birchbox recently, but I still get so excited when I see it sitting in my mailbox!

Don't know what Birchbox is?
Birchbox is a monthly subscription service that delivers a little, heavenly box of premium beauty samples to your doorstep. Each month you will receive 4-5 samples (sometimes even full-sized products) and generally a goodie (energy booster, granola bar, etc). The samples range from make-up, polishes, skincare, body, hair, and fragrances. All from luxury, quality brands. Every month is a surprise, but the samples picked for you are based on a survey you fill out letting the gals know your style and skin-type. Birchbox costs just $10 a month, and your box will always be valued way above!

December 2012, Box #1
Let the festivities begin! December was all about making you feel and look your best for the holiday season. Birchbox cutely decorated the box this month and included a gift tag and gift box that could be reused. I loved how things used to be wrapped up individually with tissue paper since it really was like opening 5 teeny adorable presents. They've since moved towards small card boxes, which means quicker processing and most likely lower production costs. If it means Birchbox gets to share with more people and keep the price at $10, I'm quite okay with the change!

Information Cards:

Products:
FreshCitron de Vigne Eau de Parfum
Wine aficionados and perfume snobs alike love this pinot-infused fragrance, which pairs a rich grape core with bright notes of citrus.
Full Size: 3.4 oz ($80.00)
Size Received: 0.25 oz ($5.88)
My oh my, what a huge perfume sample!! I only know fresh because of the free Sephora lip tints on your birthday, I had no idea they were such scent connoisseurs. Citron de Vigne is a really complex scent. The 'pinot noir' core is compromised of bergamot, dark almond, musk, white sandalwood, and rose. It has a bubbly citrus top notes and deep earthy base to really make you feel like you are among the grape vines in France. This scent is light, fresh, and crisp without being too sweet. I generally have been wearing this as a daytime perfume, but it is so sophisticated. I'm tempted to buy the $20 rollerball!
Cruelty-free!

12 BenefitsInstant Healthy Hair Treatment
Top stylists love this protective leave-in mist, which tamps down frizz and restores the vibrancy of color-treated or damaged hair.
Full Size: 6.0 oz ($19.00)
Size Received: 1.5 oz ($4.75)
I have been using leave-in mists for years. With my thin, oily hair I can't use creams or gels or most mouses unless I want to shower ever 6 hours. These leave-in mists allow me to get the benefits without all the grease. My absolute favorite being Sebastian Potion 9 Lite, which protects and adds volume. They were recently bought by Proctor & Gamble, so their cruelty-free status is somewhat murky. 12 Benefits states clearly on the bottle that they don't test on animals and is 100% vegan. Sweet! This hair treatment smooths frizz, repairs damage and strengthens, prevents split ends, moisturizes and seals hair, prevents flat iron/blow dry damage, protects from chlorine, wind, and sun, detangles, and adds shine, softness, and a silky finish! All that in one bottle, one spritz, and no added weight to my hair!? This product is so reasonably priced too. I think I have a new favorite.
Cruelty-free!

SamparUltra Hydrating Fluid
This gorgeous Parisian moisturizer helps skin retain hydration and prevents moisture evaporation while also protecting it from pollution.
Full Size: 1.7 oz ($71.00)
Size Received: 0.5 oz ($20.88)
Initially this product would not pump. I sat trying to get the pump to work for maybe 5 minutes? I gave up and tried again a few days later and still no go. I contacted Birchbox in hopes they'd have some leftover, but they didn't so they sent me 100 BB points. Strangely enough, a month and half later, it has started to pump! I could never see spending $35/oz on moisturizer. Ever. Although this hydrating fluid is stated to reduce water loss by 20% after only 2 days of application! It also helps to reduce fine lines, wrinkles, protect skin from the elements, and add back a youthful glow. I will admit this stuff is pretty great. It absorbs so quickly, leaves my skin feeling moisturized, and somehow is still non-oily. If you have the money, I'd go for it!
Cruelty-free!

theBalmHot Mama Shadow & Blush All-in-One
How cute is this peachy blush? The universally flattering pigment is laced with faint golden shimmer to add warmth to your complexion.
Full Size: 7.08 g ($20.00)
Size Received: 1 g ($2.83)
I have wanted to try this blush for quite some time. Many people think it is a good dupe of NARS Orgasm blush. They aren't much different in price, and NARS is a cruelty-free company, but it is still nice to try out dupes! This is a bright peach blush with loads of illuminating gold shimmer. The minute you sweep this on your look more awake and perky. I didn't think it would look good on me, but it really does flatter every skin shade. theBalm's blush products seriously are the best. Pigmented, illuminating, and last forever. I love this blush and it is now part of my daily routine!
Cruelty-free!

Emily's Chocolates: Dark Chocolate Peppermint Holiday Fortunes
Filled with festive messages, these treats have surpassed ginger snap cookies as our favorite holiday goodie.
Full Size: 6 cookies ($5.99)
Size Received: 1 cookie ($1.00)
I had high hopes that this would be vegan! I mean dark chocolate, but of course it wasn't. I forgot to take a photo before I gave it away. Woops. It made a cute addition to my sister's Christmas gift though!
(Product not vegan)

Extras
Rent The Runway: $50 off dress rental of $125
The idea of Rent The Runway is pretty cool. Rent a gorgeous, expensive dress for 4 (or 8) days, wear it to your event, and then ship it on back for a fraction of the cost. Rent The Runway also lets you rent a backup size dress for free too! I am always between sizes, so this is a must for me. The cost to rent is generally 10% of the full value of the dress, with many dress renting at $50-200. They do all the cleaning for you, so no extra costs for you. If I had a big time event to go to and wanted to look beyond glamorous, I would for sure use this service. No more combing through 100s of ugly, cheap dresses at The Rack, I'll be dripping in luxury wearing designer goods.

Total value of my December 2012 Birchbox:$35.34 + coupon
This was a box that I initially wasn't too excited about. But then got a chance to test everything out and figured out how great all the products are! I wish all perfume sample sizes were as big as the fresh sample! And what a great mixture of product types. A little make-up, hair, fashion, skin, scent. Its got it all covered!

What do you think of my December Birchbox? How does it compare to yours?  Let me know in the comments below!

Favorite Music Friday: SBTRKT

I had such a hard time picking this week's Favorite Music Friday. The past two weeks I have been on new music overload! I have a good 5-10 bands I want to share with you! I decided to let my last.fm statistics make the decision by picking my most listened to artist this past week.

Another band that I discovered through Spotify Radio. SBTRKT is the musical project of UK producer/DJ, Aaron Jerome. Aaron wants people to focus on the physical music and not on him. He wants to subtract himself and let the listener take in just the music; which is why he also always wears a tribal mask when he performs live.

SBTRKT's music has been classified as electronic, dubstep, bass, R&B, and indie pop. What I love about his style is that it consistently has amazing beats, well done vocal loops, and sampling. Yet, somehow each song on his self-titled debut album is so unique! SBTRKT collaborated with many different artists that really help build the songs and their direction. Yukimi Nagano of Little Dragon is featured, Jessica Ware, and Sampha. Little Dragon's track is darker, moody, and sexy. Whereas Jessica Ware's are more electronica/house infused, and Sampha's smooth voice is where the R&B undertones come in.

Since each song is really their own journey, I decided to sample two songs this week. The first is 'Wildfire' featuring Little Dragons. The video just emphasizes how dark and twisted this song is. I cannot stop listening to it.

This second track called 'Never, Never' is actually the song I heard on Spotify Radio. I cannot get enough of Sampha's voice. Smooth, sweet, and painful. Add in the marimba beat, or whatever type of xylophone being used, and the song is near perfection. The song builds layer after layer without feeling too mixed. My favorite being at 2:46 where Sampha begins to cry out before the song just explodes.

Hope you enjoy! And TGIF, big time!

November 2012, Curated by Anna Getty
Goodebox featured products that would help us get through the holidays looking, feeling, and smelling great! Anna Getty was the guest expert this month, who is an author and blogger where she focuses on healthy, more holistic pregnancy and motherhood.

Information Cards:

Products:
Pure Matters: Chocolate Pea Protein
Fuel up the healthy way with this rich, chocolaty protein derived from Non-GMO yellow peas, an ideal protein source for vegans or those with allergy-related dietary concerns. Providing 25 grams of protein and only 5 grams of carbohydrates per serving.
Full Size: 2.37 lbs ($39.95)
Size Received: 0.077 lb ($1.30)
My trainer last year always recommended protein shakes for after a good workout session. They are chock full of protein and all sorts of amino acids. There is a period after your workout that your body is craving protein and all the amino acids for proper recovery and growth. So you may be getting your cardio on, but without proper protein intake you won't be burning as much fat or gaining as much muscle as you could be! I haven't tried this out yet, but I heard good reviews. The chocolate shakes I've tried are chalky, taste gross, or don't mix well. The reviews all say that this stuff is delicious. I'm excited to try it out after my next run!
Cruelty-free!

Simple Sugars: Sugar n' Spice Body Scrub
Tickle your senses and smooth out rough, dry winter skin with this decadent sugar scrub. Limited edition seasonal scents, these special blends of nourishing, moisturizing oils & pure cane sugar are truly a treat.
Full Size: 8 oz ($15.95)
Size Received: 2 oz ($3.99)
I don't use body scrubs too often, but when I do I like them to smell delicious. This smells like spice chai and sugar cookies, yum! What I like about this body scrub is the scrub itself is rather fine. It is as fine as normal cane sugar. It doesn't feel as rough as others I've tried. It left my skin feeling soft, smooth, and nourished.
Cruelty-free!

Pacifica: Color Quench Lip Tint in Blood Orange
All natural formula packs major moisture, nourishing naturals & gorgeous, sheer color into one perfectly portable, 100% recyclable tube. Essential fatty acids from avocado & coconut oils leave lips luscious & healthy. Natural flavor & perfect shades for truly kissable lips.
Full Size: .25 oz ($9.00)
Size Received: Full-size included! .25 oz ($9.00)
The minute I got this box I immediately tried this on. This is a fat stick style lip tint in a lovely pinkish-orange. The tint is sheer/subtle enough to be an every day lip color. I can wear it to work or while doing errands and not feel silly. Plus, I never have to worry about precise application, I can just zip it on without looking. Not only is the color great, but it is highly moisturizing. I keep this in my purse at all times and if I saw this in a store I would be highly tempted to buy more colors.
Cruelty-free!

Tay Everyday: Sunflower & Grape Revitalizing Cleanser
Spa-strength facial cleanser doesn't strip skin dry but nourishes it with anti-aging antioxidants while simultaneously removing dirt and impurities to maintain skin's natural oils. Apply to wet face and massage for 1-2 minutes. Rinse off with warm water.
Full Size: 4.23 oz ($28.00)
Size Received: .1 oz ?? ($0.66)
This is a really creamy cleanser, at first I thought it was a lotion. But this is a soap-free cleanser with  sunflower and grape to help protect your skin from the sun and even out skin tone.  I am guilty of over exfoliating, so it is nice to have a moisturizing cleanser. I used it the other day in the shower with my cleansing brush and was pretty happy. It wasn't very sudsy, which makes sense because its soap-free, but my skin felt clean and still hydrated.
Cruelty-free!

Sweet Libertine Cosmetics: Mineral Eyeshadow in Blue Emperor Dragonfly
Non-nanoparticle formulations are free of fillers, additives, irritants, dyes, talc & preservatives. Provides full coverage & full spectrum sun protection.
Full Size: 9 g ($7.00)
Size Received: 1 g ?? ($
$0.77)Organic, mineral eyeshadows that are also decently priced? Yes, please! This eyeshadow came boxed up so it was a fun surprise seeing what color I got. Sweet Libertine has every color under the sun. I don't know how I'd pick if I do decide to buy. The shade I received is from a special collection and is a gorgeous blue, green with grey undertones. I wore this to a Super Bowl party on Sunday. It had great staying power, wasn't too flashy, and the color was just incredible. I'm very happy and really thinking about trying out Sweet Libertine's sample program. You get two of their most popular colors if you mail in a self-addressed and stamped envelope. Mighty worth the 43 cents!
Cruelty-free!

Original Moxie: Shape Shifter Re-forming Cream
An elasticizing and moisturizing cream gel for thick, straight hair that needs more wave and thick, curly or kinky hair that needs more stretch. Lengthen & "de-poof" curls or add pliability & wave, to thick, straight hair. Also deep conditions, detangles, & smooths along the way.
Full Size: 12 oz ($24.00)
Size Received: 1 oz ($2.00)
Uh Goodebox, I'm pretty sure I dont have thick hair... My hair is limp and thin. I'm pretty sure this cream would weigh my hair down in an instant. But for my friends with thick, curly hair this would be a perfect cream for every day maintenance.
Cruelty-free!

Original Moxie: Everyday Leave-In Detangling Conditioner
A creamy detangling conditioner for normal to dry and medium to thick hair, to leave in or rinse out. Shea Butter & Pumpkin Seed Oil provide Essential Fatty Acids and Vitamins and help to tone the hair and scalp, while dissolving knots and providing lasting moisture & sheen.
Full Size: 8 oz ($17.00)
Size Received: 1 oz ($2.13)
I'm still not sure that this product is best for me, but in winter I do really need extra conditioning. Using this stuff once a week will help keep my hair detangled, soft, silky, and my scalp moisturized. I am pretty sure that my hair couldn't handle it being left in, but I'll use as a deep conditioning treatment that I wash out after 5 mins.
Cruelty-free!

Total value of my November 2012 Goodebox:$19.85
It may be a low value, but there were so many awesome new brands and products to try! I love when a box is so varied and I get to try out all sorts of types of products. Makeup, skincare, wellness! Great job Goodebox!

Favorite Music Friday: The Neighbourhood

Is there ever a time where you aren't really into a song the first time you hear it, then weeks or months later you somehow fall for it? I almost didn't believe I was listening to the same song or the same band, but I was! I know I can be super critical of music, so it helps if I hear it a few times. That initial snobbery does eventually wear off and I can give a new voice, beat, or genre a chance.

I heard The Neighbourhood's Female Robbery on Sirius XM one morning on my way to work months ago. I thought it was interesting, but not enough to freak out and instantly Shazam it. Fast forward months later where my Sirius trial is over and I'm back to Spotify, I see a cool looking album cover show up on my Spotify new music page and I took a listen. I recognized the song title immediately and I was dragged in, over and over and over.

The Neighbourhood is a band from Southern California formed in August 2011. Just a year and half later they have a debut EP out, a record contract, and an upcoming full length. They are getting all kinds of well deserved buzz. I'm sure they are about to explode. The band is fronted by Jesse Rutherford (just 21 years old!) who says he is influenced by hip hop and pop and really into moody monochromatic imagery. The Guardian states that their music is "like Foster the People with some of the tumblr sensibility of Lana Del Rey if she was a boy in low-slung jeans..." Somehow this description is spot on.. Jesse's voice has a bit of an Adam Levine cute hipster boy whine to it, but his voice is completely likable. Every croon and oooh and woooh makes you just imagine the skinny jeans and Toms on a sexy tatted boy. Look up a picture of the fella, that is exactly what you get! Maybe not my type, but still exactly what I pictured!

(Image found at: http://www.justinbettman.com/)

Enjoy their most played (on last.fm) song, "Sweater Weather." With most songs I will be obsessed with the chorus, but this also has the sexiest verses. "Put my finger on your tongue / Cos you love the taste yeah." Umm yeah. Cough. That's hot. Broody, in love hipsters. I tell ya.

Hope you find a new favorite!

P.S. If you aren't a fan of the Mes Joies FB page, The Neighbourhood had the most popular song on Hypem.com this week, with their cover of Justin Timberlake's Cry Me A River!
